If your toilet clogs...

You can generally use a plunger to get anything stuck in the pipes to move through the system. If your toilet clogs, do not attempt to flush again, as this could cause the basin to overflow.

If you lose electrical access...

First, call your utility provider. There may be a billing problem on your account, or perhaps there are widespread outages in your neighborhood. 

Did you trip the breaker?

If you overload a circuit in your rental, you may trip the breaker. If this occurs, locate the circuit breaker and flip it back to the ON position.

If you don't have enough hot water (or any), check the settings on your hot water heater. Make sure the tank is not in vacation mode. If you have a pilot light, you should also verify that this is lit.

Use your central thermostat to troubleshoot your HVAC problem. Be sure to double check that your settings are accurate before making a repair request.
